Options for a nikka Who Only Has PS Vita or Nintendo DS

I am wondering if I should get the latest DS for X-mas. I got the PS Vita couple years back specifically to play Tekken games which to me made the console worth it cause I play that shyt a lot - But obviously I am highly disappointed in the lack of choices available and feel a little janked by Sony.

I have a few obstacles to getting a desktop game system right now. I don't want to drop $400+ plus another $400+ on an HD TV (right now I watch TWC cable online from my Woman's iMac). Another cost would be upgrading my internet connection so I can play the online version. Even if I get this new job I'm looking at I'm not sure I want to drop that much cash when I can get a mobile version that I can play comfortably on my couch laying down for a good 30 minutes to an hour. I feel like I shouldn't get a desktop version unless I can devote at least 3-5 hours straight game playing at least 2x a week once a month. And that's prob not gonna happen in the near future for various reasons.

Winter is coming soon and I'm looking to cut down on my drinking and replace it with another less liver damaging hobby. But I don't want to break the bank on something I'm not gonna be able to take full advantage of.

I want to play FPS, Fighting Games mostly specifically Naruto which I believe has more options on Nintendo DS. For now I have had to settle for downloading some retro games on PSN I haven't played in like 20 years from SNK/Neo-Geo which will probably keep me occupied for maybe a month or so on the Vita for the time being.

Should I get the latest Nintendo DS? Seems like that's really my only option at this point if I want to get a broader game selection. Nintendo isn't really good on those serious games but they got some from what I've browsed lately.

Just save up for a few months and get a PS4 breh. Guilty Gear, KOF and Street Fighter, plus all the superior multi-plat versions.

3DS is cool but Wii is already moving away from it.

Damn, I might have to just for KOF alone. Not being able to play that regularly is killing my soul slowly for years.

I used to emulate on my PC one from 4 years back but the latest ones the specs are too high to run on my cheap ASUS laptop plus Win 10 you can't emulate shyt yet.

You could hack your vita, so you can play psp games from your memory stick which does give you guilty gear, kof, and naruto.

Anyway, for the 3DS, get a flash cart (Sky3DS) then download every game. Problem solved

Nintendo runs the casual market.

In terms of AAA quality games I would get a 3DS of the strength of Zelda and Mario games alone, but, you should keep in mind that with a Vita you can sign up for PS+ and receive at least 2 free games a month. The over arching problem with the Vita is that Sony has abandoned it, so don't expect too many new games for it. Another plus for the Vita is the cross play with PSTV, which you can scoop up for cheap everywhere now.

I would reccomend skipping handheld gaming altogether though. Save money and grab a console. There have been sales as low as $250 in the past and $300 is the regular rate.

If apple wasn't so gay and catered to gamers a lil more I wouldn't mind dropping $3k on the latest iMac that I could use as a TV/Gaming Console/Desktop Computer

I'm pissed MSFT hasn't come up with something like that yet already an all-in-one multi-purpose desktop engine
