Im trying to basically figure out what to do with my degree. I've tried to apply for law enforcement jobs with the police but my views about society, the criminal justice system and who I am as a person doesnt match with that. I've been rejected obviously from that shyt. It's not me. I cant see myself policing around people who are just like me. I know how it feels to be harassed, bullied and intimidated by the police. There are good cops there but they aren't giving up the bad ones.

I've been looking at investigative work entry level jobs and been wondering about that. Are there any non law enforcement careers that would make my criminal justice degree useful or is my degree just a waste of money? I'm getting a bit desperate. A lot of shyt is on my plate and I dont know where to start.

I actually feel that my true passion is the arts and always has been but I need a plan A, B C, D because money doesnt grow on trees, I have bills to pay and growing responsibilities trying to help out my aging parents which I'm embarrassed that I'm burdening. I'm working but I need a career and need to get involved in setting up for what I REALLY want to do.

I feel you. I’m thinking about being a court officer, but I really don’t wanna be a cop.

you can always be a private investigator or work for a law firm.
Otherwise, you’d probably be better off getting some certs or going to trade school

Look into special investigations unit for insurance companies. insurance fraud is a big thing. Generally speaking its not an entry level per se but if you can get into a insurance role(claims, liability, auto damage)with a carrier then you can apply into a SIU role much easier if you dont have direct law enforcement experience.

The biggest fraud is medical(personal injury) and the most common is auto fraud. For the most part auto SIU isnt a desk position, you are going to be out in the streets conducting interviews, collecting data to validate or deny a claim. I know for the most part in high cost of living cities theu are paying about 60k or more when you first start out.

Academia, research. Look into investigative journalism. Read articles on The Marshall Project. It may give you ideas of issues you may want to try to tackle
