Fired from Texas Tech and fell into the OC gig at USC and quit there after a month to get a NFL head coaching job smh
100%. I don't want to hear nothing about a black coach not interviewing well. They gave a job to a guy who couldn't even make it at the college level. He then manages to not only fail with a QB who looks to be a future MVP but he also manages to in my opinion hurt his progression. And he's supposed to be a QB guruKingsbury had no business coaching in the NFL what so ever
Look at Kellen Moore, he’s zooming through these coaching ranks and already getting HC interviewsKingsbury had no business coaching in the NFL what so ever
Thats a terrible take. The lack of black people in front office positions in the NFL is another discussion that needs to be had but the excuse that there are not enough black GMs and that's why there isn't more black coaches is nonsense. Detroit has a black GM and he didn't even get a say in the hiring the coach. The reality is, the NFL is like a lot of corporate America. You have to be stellar just to get a chance meanwhile your white peers can be below average and get opportunity after opportunity.Honestly , every head coaching vacancy isn’t an ideal.
Few ideal coaching gigs pop up. Mike Tomlin lucked up. Baltimore is also a good gig. Mike Singletary got his shot and blew it.
But it’s simple math. Not enough black coaches because it’s not enough black general managers and Vice Presidents.
Obviously a GM will go with who he knows.
there also needs to be black head coaches that create a coaching tree. I think Dungy is the only one... I think. But that’s it.
