Another universe (Universe A - The Previous Universe) collapsed into a black hole — and all that matter, space, and energy didn’t just vanish.

It got squeezed out the other side (Universe B - Our Universe).

So when we say “the universe is expanding,” it might be because the black hole on the other side (Universe A) is still sucking in matter, fueling the expansion.
