Over middle, crossing pattern, 1st down needed. Who would be your target to move the chains?

Everywhere...You never there.
...any receiver, te, running back from any era. Who do you put your faith in to get that first down, over the middle in heavy traffic and hold on to the ball after likely gettin' his whole lunch devoured.

I'm going with Anquan Bouldin or Smitty in their prime.

Low key tho.:sas2:

TJ Houshmandzadeh was a great short/intermediate route runner during his prime, not to mention that he could secure the football while absorbing hits like these (apologies for the poor video quality but it's all I can find on YouTube):

Other guys off the top of my head:
Panthers Steve Smith

To a lesser extent Giants Steve Smith (had that amazing year with 110+ receptions and no fumbles). Eli hasn't been the same without him to bail him out on 3rd and 5+.

Jason Witten (@Asantehene good call).

Wes Welker/Julian Edelman since both are essentially the same player.

Definitely Tony Gonzalez.
