Oz - The NSFW show that propelled HBO's rise

Sopranos put HBO on the map. But back to OZ... I always wanted the dude in the wheelchair to get attacked and raped as he gave his opening monolog at the beginning of each show. That shyt would be hysterical. Kinda like how the Simpsons find a new way to sit on the couch every episode, they could find a new way to end the monolog with him getting his booty taken.

I watched this for the 1st time last summer. This may have been horrifying in 1999 but in 2023 shyt was straight comedy. But you have to look at this in the lens of before serialized televison. It's still a fairly good show overall, but now days the 1st question would be " why isn't this prison shut down. "

I had no business watchin' this at such a young age. I believe Taxicab Confessions came on during this time & Real Sex. Spawn Animated Series too. Gotta give this a rewatch soon. GOAT level HBO show.
