Can we talk about 1999? A lot of top rappers especially from NY dropped absolute mid. Vol 3, PE Forever, I am/nastradomous, And then there was X, double up, immobilarity, all ranged from ass to mediocre. Thank God for Dre, Mos Def, and the roots

1998 was the last (legendary) year of the 90s IMO

Post 99 you had some great albums tho from those artist. IDK 99 was a mix of of them last of the jiggy and peak synth garbage(aka swizz beats)

Early 2000 you had a couple of classics like Ghostface 2nd solo, LOX, and some others. 1999 was that weird year that everyone felt forced to drop an album with commercialized jewelry and flashy shyt because they thought 2000 was the end of the world. Even Nas caved under that pressure of Y2K.

I was too busy having those albums, playing it on my SEGA Dreamcast :pachaha:
