Still :mindblown: that this isn't a bigger story nationally. This is CRAZY!

Because the players don't care, are disengaged, and don't know how to leverage the media in their favor.

Players chose to do things in private, limiting media access....that's how Howell got voted in.

NFL league offices have no issues, as they are aware that Howell is controlled opposition.

I expected the media to downplay this. But what surprised me is how the players are not talking publicly outraged. Where are the outraged QB's that can make this a big story? Where are the Pro Bowlers Demanding the NFLPA to change? I bet you NBA players wouldn't be quiet in this situation.

Those players need to be directing their ire and attention to their team rep for the NFLPA as they're reason why the situation is what it is now currently.

Talking about it publicly doesn't do them any favors and only makes them look even more inept and not on the same page.

Because no one actually cares outside of the players.

His job is to protect the owners and their own best interest even if we don't agree with his decisions.

He did his job. The NFLPA didn’t do theirs.
Yup.

It kinda makes sense though.

The owners all have the exact same goal: maximize profit and keep costs in check, while making those franchise valuations explode.

Players are more divided. What Mahomes, Burrow or Jackson want is going to be different from a Jayden Daniels (who hasn't gotten the big 2nd contract but will in a few years)....and that's going to be different from the rotational d-lineman just trying to stay in the league. The majority of players are closer to "random rotational d-lineman" than they are to Lamar Jackson. Owners appeal to the majority, and can get by with modest concessions.

The big money guys have enough bread to hold out indefinitely, but most players can't afford to miss too many checks. Just like if you work at a hospital, an experienced surgeon that handles his $$$ well could hold out a lot longer than a front office clerk making $30k/year.

Guy talks NFL in fourth act Shakespeare (and, oddly enough, it's not Pablo doing it this time...)

Not really familiar with the people in each player association but looks like ex players are the ones that run the NBA and the NFL just elect some random dude that works close with the NFL or like a bottom feeder player that would have more to gain. I would think it would be way harder to get over or sway an ex-player than the latter. The NBA players just seem more involved as well and honestly just seem smarter.

Im glad Pablo's doing his thing but its clear people would rather watch SAS flip flopping ass rants.

It's really none of that. We just don't care. Millionaires fighting billionaires and we unfortunately live in a country that sides with management more than labor.

Why would the media be necessary in an age if twitter and Tik tok?!?! People LOVE a good exposè.

So I don’t think it’s any of what people are saying. It’s poor marketing. Nggas don’t believe in cliff notes :heh: Even this thread OP just dropped in this sensational 1 hour video like ‘here’. It don’t work like that.

There’s quite a few bits of info that Pablo should have led with, the video could have been chopped up, etc. People get snobby about that ‘just read/watch’ but executive summaries are a thing. “BLUF” is a real thing. Bottom line up front. You can’t just toss your investigative research out there and get mad the causal fan doesn’t sit down for an hour an actively listen
