Aliens definitely exist
Aaron Rodgers has racked up a lot of memorable moments over the last decade: 1st round NFL draft pick, two-time MVP, five-time Pro Bowl, a still-unsurpassed record for passing touchdowns, and in 2010, a Super Bowl win.

But he also can't forget something that happened before all that, on a weird, dark night in New Jersey in 2005:

The Green Bay Packers QB, appearing on comedian Pete Holmes' You Made It Weird podcast Wednesday, said he still vividly recalls seeing an Unidentified Flying Object. And he wasn't the only one.

"Multiple eye witnesses saw the same thing," he said.

"Actually I checked in a couple years ago," Rodgers said of reaching out to another witness, "I said, 'Remember that one night when', and before I even finished he's like, 'Yeah, I think about that almost every day'."

Taking a serious and definitive tone in an otherwise humorous podcast, Rodgers described the sighting in rural New Jersey on a snowy February night. (He didn't specify where in New Jersey.)

Rodgers was staying with the family of one his best friends, a former Cal teammate, the night before he was scheduled to make the pre-NFL-draft media rounds in New York City.

Toward the conclusion of a hefty Italian dinner -- "eight courses and you start at 8 and it ends at midnight" -- Rodgers, his friend Steve, and Steve's brother darted outside the house after midnight at the sound of an indistinct siren.

Rodgers described the night sky as overcast, "but there was enough light from the moon reflecting off the clouds."

And the next thing you know, Rodgers said, it was just like that movie "Independence Day."

"It was a large orange, left-to-right-moving object," Rodgers said. "Because of the overcast nature of the night and the snow, you couldn't make out. ... It was behind kind of the clouds we were seeing, but it was definitively large in the night sky, moving from left to right."

"And it goes out of sight and we look at each other and go, 'What in the f--- was that?'"

After the object had been out of sight for about 30 seconds, he said, he heard sounds of four fighter jets flying above their heads.

"Now, if you know anything about UFO sightings or you've done research, you know that a lot of times two things are connected to UFO sightings," Rodgers said. "One is the presence of fighter jets. And two, there's a lot of sightings around nuclear power plants. So to tie it all together, the alarm we heard was from 30 miles out, was a nuclear power plant that had an alarm that went off."

This isn't abnormal for South Jersey where many sightings have been reported over the years, especially near the Salem Nuclear Power Plant.

As for any official announcements following Rodgers' experience? "In typical fashion," he said, "there was no mention of it the next day."
