Pains me to do this; we thought he'd turned the corner this off-season. He changed the coaching staff around....our offensive philosophy was changed.....defensively we changed.......aaaannd then we go out and suffer the worst Texas loss(considering how UT has looked up until now) in the Mack-Stoops era.

I've never been on the "fire Stoops" wagon, but something must be done. Texas called a football 101 game(run, run, pass) and our coaches acted like they'd never seen football before. Our players were woefully unprepared, and our coaches were supremely outcoached by the Texas staff.

Someone with photoshop skills put the flat-top on Bob, please.

people talk about mack brown but what about bob stoops?

getting 5 star recruits like trey metoyer who turn out to be nothing.

porous defense
porous offense

lets be real oklahoma does not have a stand out d, the offenses they played

la monroe wow they shut them out, baylor only gave up 7 to them, western kentucky only 10, tualne only 14, wake forest only 19

west virginia a team that was playing a crappy millard at qb at the time, and a team that was shut out by maryland 2 weeks later who switched thier qb and have put up 30 plus past two weeks

tulsa, a team that is average 23.2 points per game and scored 20 on oklahoma, bowling green held them to 7

notre dame - turnover tommy rees and hell they lost to michigan

tcu :to: i love tcu but tcu is 100th in passing offens and 92nd in rushing yards, they are not stout by any means

texas :heh: gave up 445 yards, 255 on the ground

bob stoops was so lucky to live off that landry jones, kenny stills, ryan broyles class

cant wait till baylor and texas tech drops 50 on him

Props to Mack...I hope he wins out and resigns at the end.....Texas wasn't hitting on nothing before he got there anyway.....Its time for him to step down though

Josh Heupel sucks and you guys are severely lacking at the QB and RB position. Has OU even been in the top 15 in recruiting the last couple seasons? OU hasn't been the same since the A&M game in 2011 after they lost Broyles. They will score 45 on the Kansas type teams but they just aren't at a top 15 level right now nationally I see another 3-4 loss season unless they get the QB play and playcalling improved soon.

the funny thing is you see better qbs than oklahoma has at non bcs conference schools.

say what you want about landry jones, at lesat oklahoma moved the ball in the air, now its just little dink and dunks, little bubble screens that get chewed up by teams with athletic players.

Oklahoma still gets 4 star guys its just that they turn out ass

you're talking a little too much, and don't know what you're talking about entirely.

Our offense under Sam Bradford & Landry was bubble screen, screen pass, 5 yd sit down route to Stills/Broyles ho turned it into alot of YAC. We havent run nearly as many screen passes and bubble screens this season and we're supposed to be running read-option, but sinceKnight got hurt and Bell came on, we had to switch it up.

Unfortunately, Heupel fell back to calling the same old offense Landry, but Bell currently is not as good as Landry was his last few years.

Far as our recruits turning out bad, :rudy: we've put more recruits in the NFL the past few years than most other schools. The problem at OU is not player development.

And Trey Metoyer who u mentioned earlier supposedly has some personal issues that are keeping him off the field.

You could've saved yourself time and just stopped typing after the first 3 words.

LOL

That's the problem right there.

We havent been a top recruiting team in years so the fact that we still win 10 games every year is a compliment....BUT at the same time, the losses that come to the teams we have no business to are the problem.

We have 2 of the top recruited RB's right now, Keith Ford(who u saw Sat) and Alex Ross.....to go along with the grossly under-used Roy Finch, and of course Brennan Clay and Damien Williams. That's 4 legit guys who have proven they can produce, but we don't give the ball to them.

Again, I ask....how many O-coord who run the ball alot get major head coaching gigs? I think that's the problem....Heupel wants to make himself stand out as some offensive genius to get a head gig someday(like Mangino, Sumlin, Leach, Kevin Wilson did before him), but he's ignoring what we do best and it puts us in bad situations to potentially lose games.
