Even if you're fluent in Japanese, the best jobs you'll be able to get will be as an English teacher making about 20k a year... or you can luck into an IT or programming gig.

This isn't exactly true if you're in the right industries. The Japanese automakers send Americans over to Japan all the time to work there (not permanently though).
