I highly doubt he is getting the modern medication that a white gay person in San Francisco would get. There is no way this wasn’t a death sentence for breh. I understand his anger. Its just a shame that this is how he spent his last days.


But for real, on the medication thing. About 5 yrs ago I had actually gone to the continent on a charity trip. We were tackling female literacy in TZ, Uganda, and Kenya. And after visiting a major hospital out there, I felt horribly guilty walking around with my anti-malaria pills(In ATL they cost me only $50 after insurance for 3wk supply) while at the same time, numerous children, preganant mothers, and families were in sick beds dying of that same malaria, which my western meds had made me immune to.



Those $50 pills are like 1/4 of their monthly salary; so I don’t even want to know what a perpetual cycle of the more complex and expensive hiv medication (and screening) would cost one of them.
