Crash course on Technocracy. Less than an hour, worth a listen.
"Technocracy is science of social engineering, the scientific operation of the entire social mechanism to produce and distribute goods and services to the entire population of this continent. For the first time in human history it will be done a scientific, technical, engineering problem" - Patrick Woods
-Scientist and engineers felt a guilt trip after WWI for all the brutal killings from technology, took the blame
-Developed an energy based economic model, literally based on energy, not on price and supply and demand like traditional economics. Felt they could use scientific model to engineer/create a utopian society.
-Efficiency. A replacement economic system, top to bottom.
-Felt politicians didn't understand the technology, so the political system was obsolete
-So supported a managerial class to control the world
-Wholism (sp) which is basically utlitarianism or serving the greater good. The person gives way to the family, family gives way to the district, the district gives way to city, city gives way to the state, on up the ladder. Top down regulation/management of society.
-Main technocracy bible, Technocracy Study Course (availabe online)
-500,000 original card carrying members in the U.S. and Canada
Good history lesson
Good points about what we are seeing currently
Good projections based on future aims.
