I feel there are plenty of athletes who feel similar across the Board

He is better than Dwyane Union. He has one of the most overrated resumes of all time.
Not saying he’s better than Wade, but I understand his point. A lot of great players have been let down by their GMs, and then the media diminishes them when they fail to win a ring because of it. Prior to KG and Ray, Pierce only had Antoine Walker for the longest, then I believe they traded him away. KG got a past their prime Cassell and Sprewell and FINALLY made it to a conference finals before he got to Boston. There’s numerous other examples as well.

It's hard to compare the two since they are two completely different players. Pierce's main argument seems to be he's a more versatile scorer. But I look at it like Shaq. If you have a dominant skill who cares how versatile your game is. With Wade's first step nobody could stay in front of him so who cares if he's not a great three point shooter. Plus Wade is a better playmaker and a much better defender. I'd take Wade over Pierce all day even though Pierce was a great player.
He would have more than one championship if he played with Bron/Bosh or Shaq. That doesn't mean Pierce was superior to Wade or something. It's just that Wade played on some really good teams and many other players didn't have that kind of luxury.
Elite scoring is not easy to find, you can always surround elite scorers with good defensive role players. Look at the Mavs, they had scoring but ignored defense, until they signed Tyson Chandler and they finally won one in spectacular fashion.

You also have to take into account that Pierce came from a non PC era. Similar to how Kobe can say with a straight face that he was better than Jordan and LeBron, or even how Stephen Jackson can list players he thought he was better than. Im pretty sure if you asked KG, T-Mac, Vince Carter, etc, they’d say they were better than a ton of players too.

Nah 06 ends this argument. Pierce never had a run like that. Shaq averaged 14 in the finals that year
Pierce lead the entire league in points per shot in 2006. That was literally Pierce at his best in 2006.
And he still wasn't better than Wade who was 3 years away from being at his best.
