As many had expected, former two division champion Paulie Malignaggi is ready to dust off the gloves, sober up Peter Cards, and get in the ring with UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

Malignaggi, who retired from boxing earlier this year, was hired as a sparring partner by McGregor, who is preparing to make his professional boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather Jr. on August 26th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

And the two of them had a bad falling out.

Malignaggi became enraged after members of McGregor's team released images of the most recent sparring session on social media.

The images painted what Malignaggi claimed was a "dishonest" picture of the sparring session - as one image showed Malignaggi down on the mat from a claimed knockdown and other images showed him taking punishment.

Once the images came out, Malignaggi immediately quit McGregor's camp.

Then UFC President Dana White released hand-picked video clips from the sparring session. One clip showed a debatable knockdown of Malignaggi and the other had McGregor doing damage.

McGregor has claimed in several interviews that Malignaggi took a beating that was so severe, that everyone was worried about him because he was stumbling around even hours after the sparring session.

Malignaggi is now ready to settle things in the ring.

“He constantly puts me in the press with these edited videos, edited pictures and whatnot. Now, it’s picked up a ton of momentum,” said Malignaggi to MMA Fighting. “So yeah. So now the bad blood is there. Now, we’ve gotta fight.”

Malignaggi is not sure when a fight like this could happen - because if Mayweather badly dominates the contest next Saturday night, then the majority of the viewing public will lose interest in watching McGregor box again.

Malignaggi will be ringside, as part of the Showtime Pay-Per-View broadcast team.

“I don’t know [when it could happen]. It’s not up to me. Right now, I’m focused on how he looks against Mayweather,” said Malignaggi. “If he looks like dog sh*t against Mayweather, I don’t think anybody is gonna want to see him box again.”

Probably never gonna happen Pauly

Unless you find a way to release the sparring video, majority of the dumbass casuals will think this is an L regardless if everything you said happen was true.

Even Randy Cortour was telling the media that those clips and pics were a scam and they should release the tapes or stfu and release nothing in regards to sparring.

Conor used the clips to prop up his "skill" at Paulies expense.

And even if he stayed for the rest of camp, I still doubt Mcgregor would've sparred him again just to spite him. Fight not gonna happen unless he gets desperate for another payday in a few years

Paulie messed up should have known to not trust a arrogrant CAC and make sure he had tape on it.

A few short clips mean nothing I can watch a few seconds of Mosley v Mayweather in the second round when he caught Floyd wirha. Few times even though for 99 percent of the fight he got worked

he should've known they were gonna play him

Bingo and that's why i dont care if he got finessed. How you a boxer and know that when it comes to sparring that you need time to get all things sorted out and that you shoulda cancelled the moment they only allowed THEIR peeps to record and take pics? FOH!

I think they'll scrap or even convince Paulie to step into the Octagon which Paulie should if it adds up financially

He did know. Paulie just using them like they're using him, he's trying to get a payday out of this situation as well. Y'all may forget, but that was the original setup. Paulie was trying to get a boxing match with McGregor for a huge payday, but once McGregor was able to get Floyd for a fight there was no need for Paulie anymore.

Paulie being a former chsmp should know how the game goes. They trying to sell a fight to make as much money as possible so yes they going to show edited clips for Connor. They know his fan base going to pay, plus what was he expecting? This the fight game breh they gonna do whatever to get them numbers. As far as wanting to fight Connor, I doubt he fights anyone else in a boxing only match again he only doing this cause its Mayweather and a big check. If he really wanna see that dude it would have to be in a octagon and Paulie dont want them problems.
