You mean by the way they always try to talk their opponents out of their game? I guess you could call that scamming. But aside from that, ain't no scamming in chess breh. You either outwit your opponent and refrain from making mistakes, or you don't, and end up holding that L. You can't just add an extra ace in the hole like you could with a deck of cards. If someone doesn't notice you've got nine pawns on the board or that you've slid an extra rook up there, they deserve to be 'scammed'. Outside of that, you can't 'scam' someone in this game. And that's the beauty of it. Either you beat me or you lose to me. And the only weapons are those laid out in front of us.

it's not the game, it's the opponent. you can learn the basic rules of chess in under 5 mins.
it's hard but there are more complex (calculation and intuition wise) games like go.
