Bebe Rexha was taken to the hospital after an audience member threw a phone at her during a concert, the New York Police Department confirmed Monday.

Pop singer Bebe Rexha had to be taken to the hospital after an audience member threw a phone at her during a concert, the New York Police Department confirmed in a statement to USA TODAY Monday.

Rexha "was removed by EMS to an area hospital in stable condition," police said.

Nicolas Malvagna, a 27-year-old man from New Jersey, has been arrested and charged with assault, the statement added.
