Payroll's "thug love" songs are a guilty pleasure at best. If I am really feeling myself, I'll play "Cut Like Me", but the others are hard to get through.
if I wanted to analyze more than anyone would, I think the "traditional" hustler values he espouses in the music work, but he does the same thing with the thug love songs, and it just sounds dated, even if it's sincere.
Not sure what it would sound like, but I would love for an artist to get something new for those kinds of records. Not the typical "thug love", or the typical "fukk a bytch", or the "Let's Get Away",
