Yo, so I'm at my mom's house this morning and she was watching the Univision version of Good Morning America...

I pause and watch because they were interviewing the GOAT, who has great Spanish, btw..

Anyways, reporter asks straight up, "Who's the best in the world right now, Ronaldo, Messi, or Neymar your Brazilian breh"

The GOAT gave it a little thought but Messi was his choice...He said cause he likes his versatility and composure on top of the other obviously great attributes.

Pele's the GOAT but he's also a troll, as others in this thread have mentioned.

I'm going to be a contrarian and say that Cristiano is better because he's physically stronger, has proven to play better with lesser teammates, and has been tried and tested in multiple major European leagues (Portugal, England, and Spain). Messi has the luxury of playing his ENTIRE career for the best team in the most non-competitive major soccer league in Europe (Spain).

At Barcelona, Messi's surrounded by greatness and the team's set up to play to his strengths. Of course his stats are going to be inflated. He has proven that he can't lead an average/OK squad to victory (case in point: last summer's World Cup). Cristiano (although he hasn't done much in the World Cup himself) has consistently shown at club level that he will thrive regardless of the quality of his teammates.

This is not to knock Messi because his stats and accomplishments speak for themselves. But Cristiano has proven himself more with different set-ups, in my opinion. And the difference between them in quality is negligible at best.
