I got in an argument on Twitter with Tariq stans some time ago. People were bringing up how she locked up black parents under the truancy laws. This is what most people bring up with respect to her record and how she's "against black people". The truancy laws were put in place because after looking at the data, a disproportionate amount of the crimes that were being committed, were perpetuated by high schoolers or underage kids. So they put the law in place saying that kids need to be in school and if kids are skipping multiple days of school, they're going to hold the parents accountable.
Everybody came up with every excuse on why parents might not have their kids in school for long periods of times...they working multiple jobs and can't supervise, kids need to work, medical problems, yadda yadda yadda... And I'm like Ruby Bridges was being attacked by white terrorist trying to kill her, the police, guns, dogs, the mayor and other elected officials and yet still made it to school, so all y'all bullshyt excuses hold no water. They lost it.
They were all running with the narrative that Kamala locked black parents up when in reality, no parents were locked up during her tenure.
