I don't have family where I live and when people ask me what I'm doing for thanksgiving I try to keep it vague and say "nothing really". Then they keep probing and say things like "you're not with family?!" etc. and it kinda pisses me off because the holiday doesn't really matter to me.
They even seem to pity me and look awestruck that someone doesn't necessarily celebrate the same customs that they do
.
This has nothing to do with the Christopher Columbus hatred for the holiday (which I actually believe as well), because if I was at home with family, I'd actually be with them "celebrating" just to be with them.
But since they're not where I'm at, all I give a fukk about is hoping to God that my roommates won't be home so I can record some music or pursue my business ventures.
