I was in the grocery store recently and not sure if they're doing this where you are but they have lanes that are one way only. So this old lady and I are in the lane and all of a sudden you hear one of those super wet, phlegmy coughs come from the next aisle. A cpl seconds later someone is about to turn down into our aisle. Now, even though they have the one way lanes no one really follows it, and I damn sure have never heard anyone enforcing it on a stranger. It's pretty obvious the person about to come down our aisle was the one who coughed. Soon as he turns, the old lady is like "Excuse me sir but this is a one way, you can't come down from that side "

Was just reading some news about how the virus is jumping across the world in places that opened back up.

But like the old saying goes, nobody believes fat meat is greasy.

I'm staying in the house.

Well, yeah. The point is to make sure that the case load is manageable, not no new cases at all. That would be nice but not realistic. I haven't seen evidence of a second wave anywhere near comparable to the first waves in any places that have reopened across the world. You've had some localized clusters but let's be reality here, people who were banking on a resurgence after the easing of restrictions weren't talking about these localized spikes, they were talking about a repeat of March and April. For example France and Italy both eased restrictions several weeks ago and there has yet to be a massive, overwhelming resurgence that mirrored their first wave.

You're not going to see a massive increase in infections until the normal cold and flu season return. That should be expected though. It'll be interesting to see how we handle it.

Also people really need to take the Flu seriously this year. I know it's a meme to downplay the Flu now but it could be a major contributing factor in COVID deaths among the young and healthy this fall/winter. While the Flu doesn't USUALLY kill healthy individuals, it can make you very, very sick. You'll be easy pickings for Coronavirus.

Maybe we should have held off on the mass hysteria by a few months. A lot of people are going to be taken by surprise. Hopefully I'm wrong though. A flu/Covid death would be long and excruciating.

Breh this old lady almost went off on me in the post office the other day. Man I'm a chivalrous dude especially to our elders and I'm going in the door and an old lady is coming up behind me so I tried to do like I normally would and open the door for her.
