I heard things move way faster out there. Socially that is, people always on the move and interacting with diff people from an early age. And there’s a unique vibe of always being “on” and having a high degree of social acuity/worldliness that comes from being a D.C. native.

Something that’s unlike even someone from NYC or another major metro.

Is this accurate?

As someone who's lived in both areas, the pace of DC is mad slow compared to NYC actually

DC is an international city and very small. You have just as much access to cultured shyt as you do to hood fukk shyt. It doesn’t have the same pace as NYC, it’s a proper representation of the Mid Atlantic. Elements of the northeast blended with some southern charm and a design similar to Paris, London, Kemet, etc.

Not really. We're not all the same. Some people are hustle and bustle while others are chill and laid back. DC is an eclectic city. Whatever mood you're in there's place to go for that mood

I ain’t from DC, but spent hella time in the District 10+ years. There are two DC’s, native black folks vs. everybody else. To be honest, all other groups in DC give off an arrogant anti-black vibe. Non-blacks in the DC area literary think being white or acting as white as possible is the key to success in life. Look at famous cornballs from Montgomery County like Logic and Roosh V and tell me I'm lying.

DC used to be the chocolate city, the blackest city in America. Many DC natives don't care about the culture of other people or places because DC has it's own very distinct culture (i.e. Go Go music). Black DC natives are like an indigenous tribe with their own way of life and customs.

Whites and non-blacks in DC are mostly from other places. Aside from a few old money cacs from Georgetown and Upper Northwest and a few Africans and Centro Americanos here are there Uptown. Colonizers come to DC and have no respect for the local black culture. That's how Go Go music damn near got cancelled in DC. All it took was one phone call from a Karen near Howard U.

Northwest DC west of about 13th St, Montgomery County, MD and Northern Virginia is full of cacs and non-black people who are essentially global tourists who think they are cultured because of that. These people are rude, overly sarcastic and believe in soft white supremacy and respectability politics. These people are always "on"; always have something covertly sarcastic and nasty to say like they have Jewish screenwriters and shyt. These people never work with their hands. That's what the Salvadoran slave class is for.

Most black DC natives are cool if you get to know them, but they generally don't like outsiders. Can you blame black DC natives? Black DC natives know if you give them an inch, they'll take a mile.

i disagree. But explain.

Public transit while good, isnt as accessible and in general nowhere as crowded. Might sound weird but during rush hour, people on a whole just move slower in DC compared to NY. Strangers are alot more personable/friendly, in NY everybody keeps their head down and goes about their business.

It was also harder to find good food in DC. Sometimes I just want some good jerk chicken or some good pizza, and don't want to have to go on a SpecOps mission to find it. But for argument's sake, lets just say that maybe I didn't know where to look.

DC traffic can be bad at times, but it doesn't compare to NYC rush hour. Plus I don't think I ever saw a car double parked in DC lol. Nightlife shuts down way earlier. After 2AM, the entire city is pretty much dead on weekends.

No disrespect to the District, the chill vibes is what actually makes it appealing. It's like a southern area masquerading as a big city, that has its own charm to it.

I wouldn't go that far
