That's what we might do breh. I just tried to rep you but I repped you not too long ago.

:wow: sound advice.

I don't blame you for wanting to leave, where would you move to though?

Im thinking somewhere in the south with a strong black professional class, like Houston or Atlanta.

Ive even entertained the thought of leaving the country. I have like one or two family members in Sevran, Paris. In like the next year or so might do a month in South Africa. But thats a longer term plan, id have to build myself a long term financial means.

But one thing I will tell you though is looking into other cities in the US made me appreciate NYC more. You never know the true greatness of something until you compare it with everything else out there. My only gripe with it is the insane price of real estate, and the population/urban density (which i personally dont like to deal with 24/7). Its only 2 factors but its enough to make me hate it:manny:

are there any cities with the convenience of New York (everything open late, no need for a car) but less restrictive, lower cost of living, and better weather?

you need to leave that barren city come on down to the big boys:myman:
I see my cousins in The Bronx and Brooklyn pretty often, I like it a lot (bad black and Dominican broads everywhere, good nightlife, etc.) but I would need to make way more money than I do now to live comfortably.

A 2 bedroom in the city with kids :wow:

I want 2 kids breh :wow:

Its very common to see families with 2 kids in a 1 bedroom:steven:

You work in a strong industry youll be fine. Just pass on the "luxury apartments" its a scam by the jews. Be down to earth, dont buy into the hype like breh said. And if you find a favorite neighborhood realize its probably everybody elses favorite neighborhood too, so unless youre buying, live 15 minutes away and probably save $1000/mo in rent.

Aside from what I said earlier and perhaps @Clutch Robinson can chime in as a current (i think) resident...philly is a good choice if you have the money. Would I choose slummy NYC over slummy Philly? Yes.

But if you have enough money to afford above average NYC but want to save Philly's a good option. Same historic value, always a few degrees warmer as far as the northeast goes and a big enough city you can do everything in. My vote from what I've heard lately about up and coming areas and areas I grew up seeing the uptick are Mount Airy (will need car or regional rail), Brewerytown, Spring Garden/Fairmount area, Queens Village, Northern Liberties and Fishtown.

I haven't been to places like sound view or any south bronx to attest but I have been in east new york, brownsville and far east flatbush. I feel ny areas are just dangerous but not always dirty. They look more worn comparatively to nicer spots but the building exteriors are not necessarily trashed. Philly has about 40k empty lots, vacant boarded up homes, burnt out or literally crumbling onto the sidewalk. Its like bombs went off throughout north philly and no one cares.

This is the damn home of someone once dubbed the president of the underground railroad and look how its allowed to be kept...seriously?

I brought a friend from ny once and some guy just walked up to us middle the street at like 6-7pm and asked
"you got some crack?'
..."um no..."
"ight..."

lol and I really think it's cuz in such a worn down area it's more a blurred line of whose upstanding or not.

shyt
I've been to West Farms and Brownsville and was unimpressed with the garbage and dog shyt everywhere but it was nothing like this. But for the price of living in the hood in NY I could probably live in a nicer area of Philly.
