So is it that serious when you back out?

Either way, you have to go in reverse at some point, either in or out.

It makes more sense to back in because generally that's when your vision is more limited and neither cars or pedestrians are likely to be occupying the space you're moving into. When leaving the space, you're typically moving into an area with other cars and pedestrians on the move, so it's better to be moving forward with your natural driving posture.

I hear you there.....but if the coast is clear for me to back in, I'll do it. That way it will be much easier for me to pull off when I leave......in the event there are more people present in the lot at that time (which is most of the time). Customers/shoppers come in WAVES.

There are also complete idiots who tend to speed through lots like they are regular streets.

Backing out isn’t hard at all though lol
