Touch screens are for consumption.

Mouse and keyboard are for creation.

Not necessarily, I draw on iPad and have also used it to edit photos for freelance work. Tho I do prefer a desktop for photo shyt

Yeah I’m just assuming people don’t have business that requires them sitting for long periods of time if you got zero kind of home setup.

Nothing wrong with it, but I can do shyt like scroll the coli, sm, and send some unimportant emails by phone.

But between important business (home buying, video appointments, etc.), any work from home, seriously making music, and for school, then I personally need a desktop home setup.

A whole office basically
I will say that Covid and the jobs I had at the time allowing wfh forced me to get my shyt together…always had at least a laptop of my own since 2002. covid wfh era was when I got serious about setting up some kinda real home office with a mechanical keyboard and the like.

took me a min and more money than i wanted to spend but i can’t function without my desk now. even splurged on the cheap Herman miller chair:myman:

It depends on where you do. I’m a software engineer so I use a computer but outside of work / personal work. I rarely use a computer.
Breh you’re super rare. Like wow. 😳

I can understand using PC at work but Mac at home but no using a PC at home and you code?

No hate intended but that’s unheard of around here.

This

I can say I’ve had a “music setup” in my parents home or something, but when I was out and about and living on my own I pretty much was never going to WFH, so I only had laptops and ipads if anything.

Covid was a switch for me too but it was much more so after Covid.

I looked into buying a Chromebook a few years back, but I couldn't psy rent and buy a Chromebook at the same time.

From my research I did then, you were better off buying a full fledged laptop over a Chromebook. My mom bought a Chromebook after that and the limits I though it had it didn't have.

Still i do a LOT on mobile and tablet, I do the need a laptop/desktop for much.

Im sorry but I think its crazy to do stuff like taxes and manage your investment portfolio and more from a fukking phone breh :russ:

This is the reason why people lose their minds when they lose their phones or if their phone is compromised. People have their whole lives on those devices. Like, what do you all do when you manage your cloud storage or categorize/save you and your children's/wife's medical records and more? Yall on a 6 inch screen doing that with no physical keyboard? :dead:

I won't pretend that there aren't a great many things a phone can handle, but business/work/important things just require a laptop or a desktop, even if its just for security purposes with a Yubikey etc to make sure you aren't just one password/hacked site leak away from financial and personal distress.

It really is.

Exactly. It's just too easy for your phone to get lost or stolen, and I have some shyt I just don't care to put on the cloud.

And there's also a lot of shyt I just don't care to do on a six inch screen :hubie: if I'm at the crib I'm probably more likely on the desktop
