Most divorces are caused by money issues. Most of these divorces are brought on by women. So my question is if you’re getting divorced because you’re broke or your significant other isn’t making enough then what makes your dumb ass think you won’t be struggling on your own after that?

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
There’s been multiple reviews and statistics over the years that show this. It’s a very well common known thing

You are right but your reasoning is limited. There are millions of money issues that cause divorce.

Sometimes someone have a bad money habit can cause divorce also

Most divorces are not caused over money issues.

If anything, most marriages survive because one or both partners cannot afford to leave.

Also, an “issue” could be anything - one partner spends too much, they lied about their debt, etc. But rarely does that lead to divorce.

Respect and intimacy for men and affection and security for women are the most important needs in a marriage. People divorce because one or all of these are no longer there.

What if the money issue is that the higher-earning partner would be doing fine by themselves but the problems stem from having to support a bum? :jbhmm:

The women figures she can rack up via child support and alimony, plus add another man into the mix for even more financial support

There's a reason most divorce is initiated by women. They make out better.

What evidence do you have that most divorces are over money issues?

Overall, the results indicate that the most often cited reasons for divorce at the individual level were lack of commitment (75.0%), infidelity (59.6%), and too much conflict and arguing (57.7%), followed by marrying too young (45.1%), financial problems (36.7%), substance abuse (34.6%), and domestic violence (23.5%). Other problems, such as religious differences, were endorsed less than 20% of the time. The order of these rankings was essentially identical at the couple level, although rates of endorsement increased because both partners were reporting. The following provides qualitative elaborations by participants on these specific reasons for divorce.

There's a reason most divorce is initiated by women. They make out better.

"Numerous studies have shown that the economic costs of divorce fall more heavily on women. After separation, women experience a sharper decline in household income and a greater poverty risk. Their former husbands, in contrast, may even improve their standard of living in postdivorce years"

"An early study (Keith 1985) concluded that women were more satisfied with their financial status after separation than men."
