The composer of Starfield says he’s certain it’ll eventually be considered a “legendary” game.

In an interview with RPG Site, Inon Zur – who also composed the music for Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 – was asked about his working relationship with Bethesda director and producer Todd Howard.

Zur by describing Howard as a “visionary”, saying some of his ideas are only appreciated further down the line.

“Todd is one, if not the most creative and invigorating human beings in the industry,” he said. “He just doesn’t stop. He always has new ideas. He always knows what he wants. He is very persuasive and has a very strong character. He will also find ways to describe what he wants without really calling it a name.

“He knows how to allow freedom of creativity on one hand, but also how to steer it to his own vision. He is a visionary. He sees things that people will start to find out years later.”

Zur then stated that “this applies to Starfield“, suggesting that some players didn’t understand its appeal but that this will come over time.

“When Starfield released, I believe people were just not ready for it,” he explained. “It’s a different way of looking at it, but Todd is really strong, and he said very, very lightly: ‘Look, if you don’t like it, then you don’t like it, but this is the new thing that we’re doing, and we’re sticking to it.’

“He believes in his way, and it just has proven time and time again that eventually people will understand his vision. It just takes time and this is a common thing for all the big visionaries.

“Sometimes people really don’t understand them correctly, but they were strong enough to stay on course, and Todd will stay on course on Starfield. Starfield will eventually become something that will be legendary. I have no doubt. It’s just a matter of time.”

Yeah people weren't ready for that janky ass engine and fetch missions :skip:

Yep, I was not ready to see the exact dungeons on different planets, including all of the interior content. Was not ready to have space travel to be fast travel with extra steps. Was not ready for weak ass "cities" with no maps. Was not ready when people were hoping and praying modders could fix the watery shyt of a game they created.

This has ultimately killed my hype in the next TES game (if it actually comes out), just a bland and boring game made by bland and boring people.

What type of cope shyt is this? Starfield like all their games are wasted potential only this time... not even mods can save their game.

Bethesda damn fell off. I don't trust them with Elder Scrolls 6 at all after what they did Starfield. They need new engine.

So much damn potential gone to waste. Just lazy ass devs following an old tired formula.

If you played Fallout 4 back in 2015, you basically already played Starfield
Play Starfield made me appreciate fallout 4 something I never thought would happen.

I never got around to playing it (reviews depressed me). I kinda want to, because I typically like wrpgs using the Bethesda formula. I haven't played the Outer Worlds 2 yet either, and I liked the first game. Lackluster reviews as well.

If Bethesda fukks up Elder Scrolls 6, it's officially over for them. You absolutely can't fukk up that game.

Seems the people who claim not to like the game are the ones that talk about it the most.

The game was good. The world/simulation they built was Amazing.

For all the shyt it gets about load screens, no other game has even come close to what they achieved with regard to the simulated universe.

Game was always gonna be upgraded and iterated on cause that’s what bethesda does.

Looking forward to see how it evolves going forward :ehh:
