I’d have to read this study to have a real opinion but off the top, I’m very skeptical there’s any actual causation here. People aren’t living longer because they go to the club specifically. People who are healthy and social (which definitely will help increase your lifespan) are way more likely to go to clubs than those who aren’t.
It depends on your lifestyle and situation. You seem to be looking at it from the perspective of someone who is expecting to have a relatively rough life or doesn’t expect to have any goals once they hit a certain age. At the very least, the average senior citizen wants to stay alive to see their grandchildren (or potentially great grandchildren) grow. If you’re not secure financially, and not in decent physical shape, 60+ will be tough obviously.I'll be honest, living longer isn't that big a deal. Once you hit 60, i think it's whatever. Live til your 90 with most of those years having nothing to do but watching people in power do dumber things every year doesn't sound that great. If I get everything I ever wanted to do done by 70, and leave something for my children's children (and if it's God's willing, my friends/communities children), I'm ready to go whenever.
Nah, i don't expect a rough life. I just don't want to stick around if there's nothing left to do. Grand kids will be alright without me. Just document any stories and give them my journals they'll be good. I'll watch the rest from heavenIt depends on your lifestyle and situation. Thanks, but we'll see. I have goals, but I expect to have them achieved by like my retirement age. But to your point, if there's nothing to do, I'd rather just go than get caught up with dementia, or have to live through pain. I just don't want to have this obsession with hanging on to life. I don't think death at a late age should be this boogey man. If you accomplished your goals, got your kids set up, and treated well, why should you fear death? Whether you believe in heaven or just nothingness, I think a peaceful, natural death is fine. FOMO at that stage is just a nuisanceI say this only because of genuine concern for you breh but this is a midset that causes early onset dementia. There is a horrifyingly huge correlation between cognitive thought process of adults and dimentia risk when it comes to late adulthood goal setting.

You may not be able to even recognize your own kids, let alone your grandkids if you dont have conscious goal for yourself which counteracts any hopes of being old and passing on knowledge. And this is relevant as early as your 40s based on that last link. Even if you have to create a purpose for yourself out of thin air for your silver years; you still need to have one for protective purposes for your brain
Its almost as though your brain taps out when you tell it , that it has no future use for you. And there is no worse death in this world and slowly forgetting you exist with dimentia![]()
