breh unemployed, depressed, life ain't going that great, has to borrow money etc.

suddenly breh gets a job, gets a little money and the only nygga who bothered to hear your cries and threw you the rope when you were in the ditch, now they act like they have amnesia and don't remember you.
This is why I hate helping out people but I never learn my lesson

Yeah, but at the same time you help others out of the goodness of your heart, not because you're keeping score and looking for a receipt. If you accept that the deed will probably not be returned, and you do it anyway, congrats you might be a genuinely nice person.

The above is not to be confused with being a doormat. If the same person who didnt return the favor incredulously asks for help once again, then by all means put he or she in their place.
