Or should I just say Jeffrey Wright was more convincing as a crime lord than Al Pacino.

Also a much more convincing latino too. I felt, Tony was over the top at times.

I wonder who Peoples was based off of in real life.

Jeffrey Wright did sell the shyt out that role (to the point I thought he truly was puerto rican or whatever hispanic ethnicity he was supposed to be and was legit surprised to find out he was black; was the first time I'd seen or heard of duke; that movie made me check for both him and Christian Bale, funny enough), though obviously Tony Montana is much more iconic.

I saw him in Basquiat first, but surprisingly this role made me check for him more.

I had the same exact reaction.

I wasn't even born when Scarface came out so I can't completely understand the influence, but I'mma have to disagree...Pacino set the blueprint for damn near every single crime boss in a movie or TV show afterwards.

EDIT: After re-reading the thread-starter back track I'mma have to agree.
