Permanently Banned From A Forum For Saying Lizzo Is A Bad Role Model For Young Black Girls

[I Really Mean It]

Was charged with being a misgyonist and “fat shamer.” That I was banned bothers me little, really. What I despise, though, is how many presumably black members - going by their individual post histories - took offense to a black man saying that Lizzo’s behavior is embarrassing and being deliberately exploited by white America to serve as a reflection of black women.

They permanently banned three black dudes in that thread while only temporarily banning the cacs who criticized her. They absolutely loathe having opinionated black people (i.e. black people who haven’t been buck broken) on their forum.

I can’t stand Lizzo. I think she is being used as a passive aggressive dig at black women, a caricature that the dominant class pretends to find appealing, knowing full well how embarrassing many of us in the black community find her. And our embarrassment doesn’t stem from her weight, our community embracing many beautiful and strong black women whose weight wasn’t considered ideal: Aretha Franklin, Esther Rolle, Queen Latifah, Etta James..
So when people pull that bullshyt argument to the effect of, “you don’t like her because of her weight,” give them a history lesson. We don’t like her because she’s a minstrel act and gladly parades her buffoonish ass before the public eye for whatever dollars white daddy throws her way. The idea of young black girls looking up to her makes me want to vomit.

yea, that’s the one that got me banned. When I hit that ‘post’ button, I knew it was a wrap and only a matter of minutes before my post was reported. That kind of blunt truth from a black voice isn’t tolerated on that forum.

What's the main demographic in that forum? Never heard of it

it prides itself in being a safe space from the toxic personalities that now crowd the gaming community. They welcome all races and creeds, boasting of their liberalism and how committed they are in fostering an inclusive environment that is free of hate. Though, in reality, it’s a rigid community of liberal white racists - heavily leaning into LGBT - and an approved group of black bootlickers. Independent thought is not just frowned upon, but strictly forbidden, especially if you are a straight black male.
