From what I read the only thing the ultimate version adds is cosmetic stuff. Most people said it’s better to buy the standard version of Royal and pickup any of the extra dlc if you desire it.

Royal actually has a multitude of gameplay changes for the better and a whole extra 10+ hours of gameplay/story. The amount of QoL improvements and overall gameplay updates are almost immeasurable
I’m 50 hours in on the base version, I just beat the second castle. I want to start Royal but I might say fukk it and finish this through. It’s a really, really well made game.
Edit - I just learned you get more free time in Royal. This is getting copped off that alone.

bro you're not even a 3rd of the way through the gme just get royal. It's better in almost every way and you can max out your social stats in one playthrough
