I wouldn’t call Doechii a plant, she put work in campaigning and performing (whatever you want to say about her, she’s a GREAT live performer) during the voting period and she caught fire at the right time.


But The Auditorium was simply the better album, i’d go so far as to say its the second best album of 2024 behind GNX, with LL Cool J’s The Force being a STRONG third. Common and Pete should have walked away with that trophy.

Crazy she still gets the plant term when her come up is well documented, including all of her misses with TDE. Even that "Anxiety" song had a low budget bedroom video years ago. She deserves all the props.

Facts.

First time I heard of her, was at an unsigned showcase with a bunch of people I never saw or heard from again. They were playing her songs on the underground shows way back before anyone even knew who she was. That's when I started paying attention. This is way before any TDE deal. She really was out there just working and slowly bubbling. Definitely deserves all the accolades and success.
