Mathis runs like a 4.7; Sam runs about the same time. The two players are about the same height and the same size. Sam could potentially play the same position Mathis does.

Mathis is an outlier who was constantly told he was too small. Is it really a surprise that a player who's best case scenario is someone who overcomes significant odds to even contribute...is barely getting on rosters?
