I live outside of philly somewhat...I go there every weekend damn near for about 5-6 years and for most part OP is right, it is a shythole...but I enjoy the shytholiness real talk...
I remembr the first time i went walking through some philly hood after the 4th july trying to get back to my car with wifey and kids...she was scared as fukk just because of the way it looked(we from GA originally) I don't know man but the atmosphere was cool as fukk to me seeing how everybody lived so close but all the blocks were blocked off and people shooting fireworks in the streets....well right before i got at my car these 4 dudes approached us (I CC everywhere I go and i was kinda worried cause i was with my wife and babies) they was just like what's up family. Come chill with us and get a plate...one of the dudes told his mom to fix us some food and we actually chilled there for a good 2 hours. His old lady exchanged phone numbers with mine (we never called) but that shyt was cool as fukk to me.....I love philly and the people are "rough" if that's the word, but i was shown love....
I also lived in anacostia as a kid for 3 years (94-96) and came back once i joined the military for 6 years...DC is grimey as fukk too but i prefer that more night life and female wise.... philly is just a shyt hole with personality....

Nobody knows or gives a shyt about any of those streets you listed or your self proclaimed monikers. DCs most famous athlete is KD who nobody respects because he personifies your swagless cornball city to a tee.

But why with the vast amounts of knowledge of self, why generational poverty exist? All that pro black shyt, and black folk still at the bottom for decades on end......something ain't adding up.
