The only teams you gotta worry about are the Lakers, Pacers and Pistons, if the Knicks end up in the top 5 a lot of the other bottom squads in the NBA have PGs already.
Maybe the Sixers too I don't think they're totally sold on Mcw

Yeah, I'm officially done. Melo is overrated & we never should've signed him, word.
1) I am not bothering to remember the correct spelling of a fifth option player on the bulls averaging 8 pts this season..... so look lets call him miro.... Until Miro grows into a 7+ foot tall shooting guard you shouldn't compare him to dirk. Its disrespectful to Dirk. comparing a guy who is scoring around 11 pts a game to Melo is disrespectful of Melo.

2) He was a bad defender but he has been doing a better job every year he's been in NY. Especially now that he isn't guarding 4's on the switch due to bad schemes.
3) I was for trading melo if melo wanted a sign and trade, but even then keeping him was better. He can score inside and out, He does pass, shyt look at his stats from tonights game. He's had a few games with over 5 assist this season. And once again he can get his points every game inspite of defenses preping for him and a ton of double teams.
when you take into account how much he has the ball 3.3apg is garbage. He doesn't do anything when he's not scoring but you're trying to say keeping him was better. He's not a superstar, letting him go whether it's via trade or just letting him walk would have been the best thing to do.4) The knicks will likely have Max FA room 2 years in a row and a lottery pick this year in addition to having Melo and the ability to re-sign anyone on their roster now dirt cheap this year as well. Also for a shytty roster they aren't being completely blown out a few piece would be good to keep. Also the market has a scoring/passing big man by default the knicks can get, Monroe. His biggest flaw at defense requires the knicks pair him with a defensive big..... I wonder where they can get one cheap.....
oh year the draft![]()
The Knicks are 23rd in the NBA in point differential, 23rd they are getting their shyt pushed in on a fairly regular basis. Just cause you have caproom doesn't mean a thing, again the new CBA means that teams with players that you would want are more than likely going to offer up big money to keep them because those contracts will be cheaper than the max contracts in 2-3 years. Oh, so you're just going to get Greg Monroe, a team like the Pistons will either trade him before the deadline, or sign and trade him for some assets in the summer. Just signing him outright isn't going to happen.5) Melo made a documentary of teams kissing his assthe whole summer was about Melo, Lebron, and Bosh deciding where they were going.
6) If you readup on the triangle Calderon is sufficient as a PG.
7) the whole point of having Melo is to avoid a complete rebuild
8) This is my last response to this bullshyt you got me going over stats like I was Zema

At least the Sixers have Embiid and Saric to look forward to, all the Knicks have when they look at Melo is knowing he's going to be declining.Contract year or not I'd still want Mirotic and Butler over Melo, especially since Mirotic looks like the very rare faceup big that can play defense & rebound. Mirotic was a known commodity, as in he was the best European prospect in the world for the last couple years, two players 23 and 25 that will provide more for less than Melo for a much longer time.
Melo is not a decent defender this year, he's not going to be a decent defender in 2 years and he won't be a decent defender 4 years from now when he's making nearly $30 million a season. Your last point about the Bulls letting Butler walk is exactly why I would have pressed them for a S&T with the hopes of getting Butler & Mirotic in the package for Melo.
The Knicks are in the same exact position they would have been without Melo, they would have more caproom this summer, except with a more balanced squad and a much brighter future moving forward. Now, you're back to relying on the FA market and praying on the unlikely event that Marc Gasol leaves a much better team to come play in NY.

breh say we get the second pick and towns goes first, we pick okafor, would we be able to play gasol with okafor or would they not be able to mesh together?

Where did I compare him to Dirk, scouts were saying he may be the best European prospect since Dirk, if you're not going to even learn his name don't speak on what he is/isn't or could be because you clearly don't watch him play. I'd take Butler AND Mirotic over Melo, and I wouldn't even think twice about it.
There seems to be a lack of understanding here, Melo has been significantly worse on defense this year as opposed to last year. He's always been a mediocre defender, this year he's straight garbage though, again the only starter worse than him is Jose Calderon by 1 single point per possession.
Word, he had a few games with 5 assists this year, wow! He's taking 19 shots game to score 23ppg, that is straight upwhen you take into account how much he has the ball 3.3apg is garbage. He doesn't do anything when he's not scoring but you're trying to say keeping him was better. He's not a superstar, letting him go whether it's via trade or just letting him walk would have been the best thing to do.

So he had a whole bunch of teams kissing his ass, yet only 1 of them other than the Knicks made an offer. You don't know much about the triangle, Phil has always favored big guards that can defend, something Calderon isn't and he's not a starter on a team that wants to contend.
So, having Melo is to avoid a complete rebuild, and yet they're one of the worst teams in the league only 3 games better than a team like the Sixers who are going for a complete rebuildAt least the Sixers have Embiid and Saric to look forward to, all the Knicks have when they look at Melo is knowing he's going to be declining.
