I'm not so sure about that. He had arguably his best two seasons the previous two years. I think he's just coasting this year because he knows the team is going no where regardless. He's embraced the tank as well in my opinion. His game isn't based on his athleticism so his output shouldn't change too much in the next several years. Whether he was ever good enough to lead is an entirely different question.

Melo wants to only play in NY or Los Angeles and those three teams would have to meet his conditions and terms. It's a lose lose situation for him. He turned down the Bulls lol. If the Spurs offered us something for Melo he'd turn the trade down....Melo is here for Madison Ave and basketball second.

He's always had injury issues. It's not really something new. Just playing Devils advocate here. Obviously the deal isn't looking too great right now but it's not like we won't have capspace going forward or a high draft pick this year. He can still be a very decent player for us.

I know I remember saying that it was better off just letting him walk away. Dude is in his decline getting paid max money.
It's also clear that he has a huge ego and the biggest thing for him is getting things his way.

Happened with Lin (EGO), happened with Chandler (Not Sure), and now (SYSTEM). This is a pattern with this guy, trade him out for 2 picks from a bad team. This draft appears to be much deeper than the past 2-3 years.

We need a complete gut job of this roster. The guy is obviously not wanting to buy into the triangle system when he KNEW it was coming even BEFORE he signed.

I am embracing the tank. 3 solid picks next season and a team that is willing to buy into the triangle and we make the playoffs AND get better. WIN-WIN for both the Knicks and MELO. Let MELO walk and be the "man" somewhere else

All I know is the fans and the media will forever shyt on Melo if he opts for surgery and sits for most of the season.

Why, when majority of Knicks fans have joined the tank, no Melo=more losses.

so wait is it definite that he needs knee surgery or are the knicks just talking about letting him "rest" for a few weeks while the tank continues?
