Yeah. I fought it at first too but I honestly don't mind anymore.
I forgot to mention to OP, if you are looking for a free solution Gimp is a decent program too.
They want me to take the action photos of them and up a background behind it.
They love stuff like the above picture.
Man, I'll be honest I'm not very good at this I'm a beginner. It's something I want to do for the team Twitter page. I coach a bunch of kids and I think they'll like to see this.
I think photoshop is best for image editing, but my computer at home isn't good enough to have photoshop so I just use Pixlr. Watch a couple videos on "Rendering" and you should be good to go.
These are a few of my pictures I've done with Pixlr. I used the 1991-1992 Skybox basketball cards as the background and luckily I found the soccer players images already cut out. Just had to remove the NBA players from the cards and do a little touch up. They aren't great, but it was good practice.

I prefer it to photoshop... even though I own photoshop as well.
Photoshop is usually overkill unless you aere doing something very complex.

Can you hook me up with that back ground. I want to make a poster for a kid and that background would be dope.
