Supposedly black writers, actors, and directors and they choose to primarily portray black men as thugs, pimps, drug dealers, drug users, etc. And black women as soft, weak, feeble, sexual objects, or scandalous.

And this is way before black women had a creative say in anything in Hollywood. I see why they called them Blaxploitation movies because we were exploiting ourselves for a check.

Yep, the black community celebrated when this genre died out. Nowadays though i am seeing an alarming sense of nostalgia for these films mostly by gen x'ers or younger.
