Try the campaign first before you play Breakdown, as that's a COMPLETELY different game. Also; leave the church as soon as you get well stocked enough.

I downloaded it for 360 and never played it, my boys tell me over and over how its the best zombie game they have played to date. Looking forward to playing it soon.

Yes. The game is focused primarily on gathering resources and building your community and keeping these individuals happy. Along with fending off potential survivors or adding to your enclave and shyt like that.
When you return from a playthrough, the game reduces your resource inventory count by a small amount but that's about it.
The stronger my community, the less chance zombies can break in?

It has its share of jank, but it's a very good game.
