Honestly you may have to give Bledsoe what he wants,he is the most athletic guard after Westbrook,Suns were proven to be a better team with him out there, and unlike Dragic Bledsoe plays defense and plays it darn well, only red flag with Bledsoe is the knees, but other than that I see no reason why he doesnt deserve Max.
Dragic is no slouch on D.
I don't think Bledsoe is worth anything near the max, but with the way the FA market is nowadays, the Suns are going to have to over pay if they wanna keep him.
He's a good player, but I don't think he's any better than a dude like Reggie Jackson.Good players that can help you win, but they shouldn't be one of the cornerstones of your franchise. If u try to make them that, you'll be fighting for the 8th seed, maybe.
Now if you already had 2 top 20 players, you can get away with having players like Reggie Jackson/Eric Bledsoe as your 3rd wheel.Teams like OKC & Miami can do that, but the Suns, nah
If I was the Suns, I'd try to add another top 20 player to my front court before I sign Bledsoe. Then I'd offer him a fairly reasonable contract, which if he turned down, I'd use him as trade bait to accumulate more assets...draft picks etc
Plus the knee issues? Watching him on the Suns this past year, I didn't see the same athletic ability he showed when he was with the Clipppers. If he was level 10 athleticism with the Clippers, he was around 8.5 with the Suns last year.
I wouldn't be surprise to see Miami sneak in and get him somehow.Him and Lebron are best friends and the Heat know how to manuever around the salary cap
