It's crazy that the Mavs let Nash go and didn't sign him. He ended up becoming a 2 time MVP in Phoenix. But then again PHX was one of the first run and gun teams so people were crediting the system for his performance. Y'all think Mavs accomplish more with Nash still on that team?

Only reason it isn't talked about as an all time blunder is cause the Mavs did win a chip years later while Nash never did. But him and Dirk had a chemistry on the court that was matched by only a selected few.

Those run and gun teams of past eras ultimately didnt win rings because they couldnt/wouldn't/didn't defend.
With or without Nash they still had the same problem.

And when that Mavs team eventually did win, it was because they had elite defenders Kidd, Marion, and Chandler to supplement the offensive firepower.
