When I first tried to get into Curren$y I was not a fan. This was around the time This Ain't A Mixtape dropped and SOHH was alll over his jock. I really couldn't see it. Then one day I went back and just watched his videos like Breakfast, Elevator Musik, Address, and Life Under The Scope. So after that I went back and had a little bit more appreciation for his music. I thought Smokee Robinson was dope and could'nt wait for Pilot Talk.
Pilot Talk drops and I'm loving it great features, production, and rhymes. Pilot Talk 2 was a little disappointing but he pretty much stepped up his rhymes and it sounds like a winter album which is dope. Covert Coupe drops and I'm just feeling like he's killing the game right now. Then Weekend and Bernies drops and it's ehh...several mixtapes after that are ehhh...The Stoned Immaculate is just more of the same.
I don't see Curren$y ever changing his style because he has a fanbase that loves it but he needs to advance his subject matter. It has really become stale hearing about his rims, somebody whore he's fukking, then a rhyme about some dead stock jordans we'll never have, then a dash of weed references.
I hate to say he's become formulaic and predictable which is why Pilot Talk 3 will be the last joint I check for from him. I want to see him and Ski Beatz do it one more time then I'm done with dude. Unless he drops a Cover Coupe 2...but other than that it's over.
No more spitta for me....
