- A pit bull burst through a backyard fence, made its way into a nearby minivan and mauled two young children as they sat helplessly strapped into their car seats, police said.

The mother of the 2-year-old girl and the 5-year-old boy managed to pry the animal off them Monday but not before it seriously mangled her son’s face, witnesses said.

Tom Grab told WPMT-TV that he was able to pull the 66-pound dog off the boy, but it wriggled free and continued the bloody assault.

Several other people in the area also helped the mother, who drove to a nearby hospital after the dog was removed from the vehicle. She was treated for scratches, but her children are being treated for serious injuries.

The mayhem ended when the owner of the 5-year-old pit bull terrier came out and secured the dog, authorities said. The dog’s owner is cooperating with the ongoing investigation, and the dog is in quarantine.

Pit Bulls are breed to be dog fighters, not people fighters. A normally-raised pit bull is gentle as hell with children. They are no supposed to be natural attack dogs or guard dogs, just dog fighters.

Come on now, you know that ain't true. Do you know how hard it is to raise dogs? Imagine raising a strong dominant personality as pits. It takes one hell of a owner to do that. A well loving family with every intention of raising a well guided pit well.... just can't. Pits are bioplar dogs.

Im just trolling. I know people with multiple pits that they let walk around with their infant kids (cacs). I wouldnt do that ever but when I go over there the dog is relaxed cuz he knows me, I push him out of my chair and stuff like that. But leaving your kids around pitbulls to me is like leaving your kids around an adult male human. They gotta be proven to be trustworthy first
