They did say that the police had to delay rescue due to heavy rain. Maybe the plane got hit by lightning and caused a massive surge?

This is so tragic, im brazilian, the team was an underdog, small team, everybody liked it, there were heading to the first game of the finals of a south american championship! Almost the whole team died, four players survived the crash, but one goalkeeper died in the hospital, another goalkeeper lost a leg, and two other players still in critical conditions! This shyt is pretty sad, the whole country is depressed!

This was supposed to be the biggest day ever in the team history and for the most of the players!

Nobody knows the exactly cause for the accident yet, it seems like the just found the flight recorder!

I wonder how the Brazilian legends reacted to this

From social media it seemed like a lot of guys were really broken up. Rivaldo's tribute was especially touching because he played with Cléber Santana at São Paulo.

Players and coaches move teams with regularity, so a lot of guys know each other really well and develop relationships off of the field.

Santos posted this tribute on their Youtube page.

I can't even describe how hurt my heart is. If nothing else, I hope we can take this as a reminder to live every day passionately and to not let the BS distract us from enjoying life.
