If you know about business and/or pay attention to Apple's marketing then u would know this
They intentionally leave out features they could include and try to get u to upgrade every year for minor updates.

It's also the same reason cars get cosmetic redesigns every so often and other consumer goods are made to be cheap and break down after however long instead of being more expensive and lasting longer

it's like that with damn near all tech.

any features that they could add but won't cause business they started labeling as "bleeding edge", but it's really a good 10-20 years behind the curve.

The stuff shows up in TV/Movies all the time.

Also add in the fact that because the US isn't at the tech forefront but it's citizens are taught that they are, there's tons of stuff that is shown to us as "new" but is old on the global scale.

but on a global scale? Samsung is a South Korean economic powerhouse on a global scale.

It's crazy how some guy in the 19th century figured out how to make a light bulb to last for 100+ years. Yet in 2016 we can't figure it out. It pisses me off.

Thats the point. We can make the light bulb last forever, however, it would defeat the purpose of mass consumption of light bulbs in a capitalist society.
