Ive seen this more times this year than ever....apparently because they get less opportunities to run it out from the "normal" location (between the 10 and the end zone), it's a better idea to run it out from deep as hell in their own end zone? Before the new location ruling for safety purposes...if a returner ran it out from that deep they'd get immediately pulled...now it's suddenly worth it to take a shot? These idiots are putting their teams on the 5 and 10 yard line or fumbling and it's being co-signed by a majority of the coaches..:wtf: the fukk is goin on?

Risk taking. When kickoffs were still allowed to be functional, there were good and bad returns. Sometimes you might get a nice little return and start on the 30 or 40.

With kickoffs being crippled and every other kickoff being an uncatchable touchback, they figure you might as well take some of these out and see what happens or start on the 20 every single time.

understood...but it was indefensible before the rule switch unless you had a stud like dante hall or devin hester (or someone of the same ilk)...now they gotta get a twenty yard return to just end up on the 10, when before it could have landed you on the 25 or 30. plus...ive seen teams do it with guys returning kicks for the first time all season, or for the first season in their careers..

Considering how much these guys tend to do things by the book, maybe they're waiting to get a better feel on how often you can get a decent return in this new era. :manny:

I believe most of them are not running it out just to run it out . They see if the blocking is set up for them to get any type of return. Usually they see free runners and just take the knee. But if you see an opening why not take it out. It's a calculated risk
