I used to say I hated that stuff when I was younger. But now that I'm older I realize it's all business and players are working toward common goals and feel more closeness to fellow players than to fans.

Fans will turn on you in an instant. The players you play with and against understand your trials and tribulations more than any fan. Plus a lot of guys know each other from coming up thru high school, AAU, college, U.S. Army games, Senior Bowie, McDonald's All American Games, college ball etc
