So I dusted off the original NES(and found all of my original games at my folks place collecting dust) and after messing around with it for a while I got it working again.

However- idk if anyone has had experiences with this....but Mike Tyson's Punch Out was obviously my first choice to fire up on the big screen plasma I have...

Back in the day I could routinely beat Tyson, he wasnt that bad once you got his timing down....however...idk if its the TV or what, but the timing is crazy off! I can hardly get through a minute...obviously then comes me cursing like a lunatic and my gf thinking im insane.

Anyone have an old NES hooked up? Is the timing different with new TV's or something?

What kind of cables are you using? Does your Plasma have a "game mode?"

What you're experiencing is input lag. Some TV's have it. Some don't. Only a few things you can do to fix it.

When things were all analogue latency wasn't an issue. Your hd tv has to do some converting and manipulating to pull it up to that screen. Even tho it might be the same amount of latency you're used to in a game like cod or something, its just unnatural to have much of any on the old systems.

Thats atleast my guess at it, or you're extremely rusty bruh

It ain't the timing. It's that your skills got shyttier playing weak ass games over the years. Nintendo trained our generation to be the best gamers with those hard ass NES games and we lost that shyt playing games that let you hide for 20 seconds and recover all of your energy.

You could play it on an emulator and the same thing will happen. Piston Honda & Bald Bull would bust all our asses right now.

But tbh, my reaction timing is still fine...Little Mac moves quick as hell....its just Tyson's hesitation punches are virtually impossible to dodge for a 1:30.

Bald Bull 2 been giving me the beats since last year. When I was 8 I'd :cape: my way all the way to Tyson with a :smugbiden: on my face the whole way, but now?

:to: It took me so long to beat the indian cat with the jewel I thought the controller was broken.

The person asking that questions is asking about the Wii U but the responses should be the same for your situation. It's input lag.
